Page 1: Our 5th annual pollinator event at Marin takes center stage, along with our commitment to protect pollinators by selling neonicotinoid-free plants and seeds. We give suggestions for fall blooming plants to add to your garden right now, and we reveal that our non-profit this year for the pollinator event will be the Marin beekeepers association. We then shift gears into Halloween decor and preparation, with deals on pumpkins, and supplies to make the best Halloween costumes and decorations on the block. We also introduce our Fix-it-Fest! This event which aims to help our neighbors “work smarter and not harder” to get their home and garden ready for fall is on October 20th. There will be demos of many items and we will be hosting our local fire departments to talk fire safety since October is fire safety month.
Page 2: This page is all about being prepared for natural disasters, emergencies, and the occasional monster (it is October). We talk you through things to add to your kit to help keep you and your family safe in the event of the most common disasters that we face here in Northern California, like earthquakes, and fires. We feature our sale on fire extinguishers and fire alarms. We also have a short section on how to prepare for meeting Bigfoot, and how to deal with uppity vampires. The coupon this month is a great BOGO on the one item that truly falls into both Halloween prepping and disaster prepping: duck tape.
